Biggest Disappointment.
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Capcom.

While the first game, "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" was nothing great, the next installment seems to slip further down. The best features so far, are the upped graphical quaility, and the improved item and weapon selection. Otherwise "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles" is a total letdown. The first major offensive is the shakey camera. This is intentional to really immerse the player in the game. It happens to do quite the opposite as it is extremely annoying and makes aiming an experience in frusteration. The simple fact is, the computer is controlling action as it is another on-rails shooter. This means that when the characters turn face and run, it is at the pre-set decision of the game, not yours. The second biggest fault was the games difficulty. In a move to appease complaints of the first title, Capcom has basically made this game damn near impossible to lose. Zombies are slower, fewer between, and go down in a couple of shots. The tension of getting zombie arm slapped in this game is completely gone. The third flaw of the title is the sluggish pace of the game. There are moments where the screen will go into a room, examine every detail, and then just leave without ever encountering a single enemy. I have no idea if this is done to build tension, or be immersive but it drags an already slow game to an absolute crawl. Capcom claims this title is done to be more appealing to casual gamers, but I have a message to Capcom for that. Casual gamers do not care about Resident Evil. They never have, they never will. Instead of wasting time and money on another light gun shooter, you should give people what they have been asking for, for many years. A true remake of Resident Evil 2, or a ground up Resident Evil title for Wii that uses the RE 4 engine and plays like that game.
Runner Up:
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Nintendo.
Wasn't expecting this now were you? The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, is not a bad game. It just is enitirely to similar to the last title. Again, this title forces stylus controls on the player, and the demo had some odd collision detection issues in the dungeon. The train is incredibly boring, imagine the boat without getting to choose your route. The boss was familiar, and way to easy. The phantom in dungeon was a bit interesting to control, but it is basically an enhanced version of the Dominion Rod from "Twilight Princess". Another disappointing aspect was how similar the game looks. It literally uses graphic assests in a copy paste manner. I know the DS is capable of more then this, and after playing the title I can not help but feel this is a Zelda title that is made to simply fill in the time for the next console iteration. Or to simply squeeze a bit more out of "Phantom Hourglasses" success.

Kudos for the Bayonetta award XD I agree with a fair amount of this (except for The Grinder and Zelda Wii as it wasn't necessarily an E3 announced game ). I'm getting worried about Darkside Chronicles though. I'm hoping the problems are with the demo and not the final game because I was looking forward to it.

In all my 8 years of attending E3, most often what you play is almost identical to the finished game. This is ESPECIALLY true if the title is only a few months from release. A lot of the problems within Darkside Chronicles are intentional, shaky cam was made to be more "immersive", and Capcom intentionally made it easier. The pace is also unlikely to change as these were two complete levels within the game. It was not some pre-alpha build of the project. The only time E3 demo's seem to vary greatly from the final product is when the title is far from release, or there is enough negativity within press to really let the developers know what needs improvement. So far, only me and Mark Bozon of IGN seem to really have a problem with the title. So I wouldn't put much faith in a turn around at this point.

No Scribblenauts? That's a first. IGN is plastering its name everywhere they can, lol. Nice to see something else (although Scribblenauts looks really good).
So many good games though...even your biggest disappointments still hold appeal to some of us, ha xD (I still think there's more to ST than they're letting on),
But even you list of Best Wii Games is missing other good ones, which is understandable 'cause you can't fit everything in there, and as it is, you still put down 4 games, haha.
They all sound great. NSMBWii, Silent Hills, FF:CC:CB, Boy and his Blob, The Conduit, Red Steel 2, Wii Sports, Dead Space, and even The Grinder, Fragile, Zelda, Metroid, SMG2...
Too many games that I want...

I actually kinda hope that Darkside Chronicles is easier than Umbrella Chronicles (UC was just a little too frustrating at times). I'm not sure if I'll pick it up or not, but I guess we'll see how the reviews look. To me, the funniest announcement at E3 was Final Fantasy XIV. I mean, XIII isn't even out yet, and probably won't come out for a long time. God knows when XIV will even see the light of day. Square-Enix definitely has a completely different marketing tactic than Nintendo.

XIII is out this year for Japan, so a "long time" is no longer that long.
XIV will likely see a fairly quick release after XIII, as XI came out fairly quickly after X (at least in comparison to the usual SE release setup).

The real reason there is no scribblenauts is because...I didn't get a chance to play it! Chuck did and he was just as impressed as the rest of the media. I have no doubt it is a fantastic title, but it would be highly presumptuous of me to make a game I didn't actually play and have only seen a couple videos of my best DS game of show. And I totally agree on there being plenty of other good/great Wii games, The Conduit is right up there, Red Steel 2, Wii Sports Resort is a fantastic title thats also extremely casual. Sin and Punishment 2 is looking good, Muramasa, Arc Rise Fantasia, Endless Ocean 2. There is a ton of great games but I decided to limit runner up to two titles.

Haha, yea, see? There are so many I even forgot a bunch of titles. S&P2, Muramasa, etc...
Im sure it wasn't always easy deciding what to pick! But that's a really good thing.

* Dan continues drooling over Batman: Arkham Asylum and Metroid: Other M. That reminds me, I should probably check back on that Batman forum to see if they've released any new info on it. Knowing that forum and how busy this one was, there will probably be a million unread replies...
