Link's Awakening's track was not nearly as good as Minish Cap and Oracle of [stuff].  PH's music sucked, we all know.
Have you even heard it?

Well, not all of it sucked. From the first final boss fight onward, that's when it got good. But yeah, the rest of it was pretty disappointing.

Oh, yeah.  The Ghost Ship Possessed, Oshus redux and Phantom Linebeck were very good.

Yeah. I loved how Phantom Linebeck's theme was a remix of Linebeck's theme. It's pretty awesome. ;D

Never played PH, wish I had the game. Maybe I'll get it soon, but with all the new games for the Xbox that I want are taking up too much time than me getting that game. I'm getting games like CoD4, Turok, Devil May Cry 4, etc. Too many before I can get such a game. I'll end up getting it when it's $10.00. :P

Heh, I've yet to play that game as well. At least now I know not to get my hopes up for a decent soundtrack. :P

I do hope to get the game pretty soon, though...I've got only 50 bucks on me at the moment, and as big a fan of Zelda as I am, Brawl takes precedence...so it'll have to wait at least a couple more months, unfortunately.

*sigh* It really does suck being a poor gamer...:P

This game will probably be bothersome for the Z.R.E.O. Team to do... let's see if we can do something special. :D

OoT's music, in my opinion, wasn't all that great.  The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess greatly surpassed it.
It seems like the console Zeldas always have more memorable music when compared to their portable siblings.
I think you need to listen to the Minish Cap soundtrack.  It had console-quality sound.

You do know your talking to music experts here.

Oh, and btw, Links awakaning was the first ever game that was all MINE.

Just Super Mario Galaxy now. All the others I've wanted I bought already (some of them imports that weren't cheap). The only Zelda OST I got is TP because:
1) First Zelda game I owned and heard the music of
2) It's such a great OST.

LA was my first Zelda game that was all mine.  The first game that I ever bought with my own money was Pokemon Yellow :D

Koji does have a reputation for not doing very much different styles of work.  That has been his main critique (and only I think) that some people have.  Wind Waker and Twilight Princess had a virtually completely original soundtrack.  Of course some things never change (item get), but it would have been nice to hear something different for Phantom Hourglass.  Hopefully there isn't a rush into the next game.

The things is that TWW and TP had OTHER composers as well apart from Kondo. TWW had 4 composers, for example. If the top-to-bottom order listing is of any use, then  it means Kondo is getting less and less involved, though I suspect the best themes are Kondo's.

I think Koji Kondo is losing his touch.  Besides some cool and original tracks. Twilight Princess's songs were usually the theme of the game on a different way. If you hear Hyrule Field (day/night), Gerudo Desert, Snowpeak, and even Midna's Desperate Hour, you'll notice the same theme over and over again.

In one way... it's pretty amazing how he uses the same  theme in different ways, but I prefer original AND unique tracks than simply original remixes.

Oh..btw, Link's Awakening has a sweet soundtrack , especially with Marin's Theme.

Most likely indeed. That guy is a musical genious. Although Brawl has a lot of composers as well and they are all really good as well.

I have the Lon Lon Ranch song from Moka and I don't think it's crappy. As for the TP OST no it's just the soundtrack. No collector's edition. Wish it was though.

I think Koji Kondo is losing his touch.

I don't discard that but that's the last option for me. When it comes to Zelda, and judging from the staff roll, he's becoming less and less involved (when the composers' names appear, he gets last), so the crappy songs might not be his.

I totally agree with you but that's not always a bad thing if you can execute it correctly, which Kondo has demonstrated he's an expert at. Actually it is TWW which has the most recycled themes I believe.

With one of the best Zelda songs: Tal Tal Range theme. =)

Not to be rude, because it DOES have an awesome repertoire (just hope they use orchestration, and not synth, like God intended), but what does that has to do with Kondo or what I said?

i have hyrule symphony, mm orchestration and the crappy moka ost as well :)

If it's crappy, then why do you have it or don't you sell it? =3
I think it's actually quite good and something ZREO composers should ponder upon as sort of inspiration I guess. No, I don't mean to go somewhat, wacky, weird synth. But some of them have a very special charm and all of them hit the Zelda spot of the song they redid. My fave songs are Title Theme, Epona's Song, Zelda's Theme (I can't believe you monster didn't chose this one), Kotake & Koume's Theme, Hyrule Field Main Theme and Last Battle.
