They're 2 different Touhou characters.  I mentioned them in the "What er you doing right ow " thread a few pages back.

Back on topic, I just got a full set of passwords for both games and should start fairly soon.  I named the kid "Dongs" for the lulz.

I just completed Snake's Remains earlier, the second dungeon in Seasons.  I would've been done sooner, but I'm taking my time through this game in order to document the plot in videos for YouTube.  Of course with the Oracle series, that means four sets of videos, two for each game in either order.  I'll probably end up reusing videos since only small portions of the overall plot are changed for a linked game.  And I hadn't even thought of whether I'd make different videos for whichever character you pick as your partner... again, I'll be able to just do segments as opposed to redoing the whole thing again.

I decided I'd get Ricky this time, because I've usually gotten Dimitri or Moosh in the past.

First dungeon done on Seasons... Yawn.

Really, the first dungeons are too simple and easy.  If they were more fun then it would be alright...

The first dungeons are basically just tutorials.  They really always have been.

Also I recall having Ricky as my character before now... and I didn't really like Ricky all that much.  I'll decide my character later, right now I'll work on some geometry and try to cram 18 weeks worth of work into about 2 and a half days.  Pretty easy to do though, since it's only one class and one class alone can be accomplished in a much shorter time.  Heck, I've gone through entire semesters in a single day on these discs when I felt so inclined, so this can't be too difficult... except, you know, some of the mathematical concepts might take a minute or two to really seep in.

One thing that always bothered me was that the lvl 1 sword was a wooden sword, which makes no sense. How you going to kill these huge beasts with a wooden sword?

It's a sign of courage, which you would have to have in order to try killing one of those big bosses with a sharp wooden sword.  Or at least, it's a sign of courage in Seasons.  I don't know why Impa was carrying a wooden sword in Ages...

Sign of courage or not...its wood. I also can't imagine, for example, killing Ganon with a wooden sword...

I never did that though, so I never saw a problem with it.  I just assumed you were required to get the Noble Sword.  :D

Nope. On one of my play throughs forgot the sequence to get through the lost woods and get the noble sword so I went through the game without it. It is wood by the end of that game it would have either caught on fire or rotted or splintered from hitting an armos statue.

Well, maybe it's not a wooden blade, but a wooden hilt with a steel blade. I dunno, just a theory.

I wouldnt call that a wooden sword though...I'd only do so if the blade is wood.
Like in TP...the wooden sword is indeed like a stick

Indeed, but like you said, that "sword" from TP is so incredibly weak that it barely counts as a sword. Obviously, the more comparable example to OoX's Wooden Sword is TP's Ordon Sword, but why they call it wooden.....I don't really know.

It's funny, I was contemplating this as well while I was going through the first dungeon in OoA today. XD

Yeah but then that hilt is going to be destroyed...

I love that you could turn into a moblin and octorock in these games.

Just got the Rod of Seasons.  Taking the game bit by bit.
