I just realized that Nintendo hasn't released a game I've even considered buying since 2007, and won't have anything I want to buy out until 2010.     :(

What a drought...

Sounds more like you just have a very narrow view of interest. Or not a lot of money.

And I don't mean all those Wii-whatever cash ins...I'm talking about actual games.

Just out of curiosity...what game are you referring to?

Same thing with me, except for movies. There hasn't been a movie I actually wanted to see since...since forever.

Anyway, I also can't wait for 2010 to come. I really am dieing for those games.

What generes do you like? It might be that there has been a low amount of games in that gnere released lately.

The former is correct.  I have more money for games than games to buy with that money... but I'm very picky.  Still, Nintendo is my favourite game publisher and I've bought more games that they've published than all of my other games combined... so the fact that they haven't released anything that interests me in two years is disappointing (for me, obviously many people enjoy some of the company's newer releases).

The last game that Nintendo released that I considered worth buying was Super Mario Galaxy.

I don't really go for particular genres, though I must say that first-person games interest me a lot more than other games in general.  I just buy games when I really think that I'll like them.

Well hopefully Galaxy 2 will interest you. Can't remember your view on Other M though. Was it you one of the ones that didn't seem to like it? There's also Sin and Punishment 2 maybe, that one has potential. Zelda if it comes out in [late] 2010.

Galaxy 2 is a must-buy for me, so I have no worries for 2010 being like 2008 or 2009 on the Nintendo front.

I didn't like the trailer for Other M, nor the idea of Team Ninja making the game.  Also, I can't stand third-person shooters and (God forbid) mindless beat-em-ups.  If the game does end up being in first-person, I might buy it, depending on reviews.

Sin and Punishment 2:  but I've never bought a rail-shooter and don't plan to any time soon.

The Wii Zelda, of course, is what I really want to see in 2010.  Nintendo's never had a gap like this between Zelda games since the gap between A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time (was that even this long?), but I worry that the game's taking so long to be released not because of its quality, but because Nintendo's priorities have shifted.  Either way, it's a must-buy under any circumstances, as is Spirit Tracks (despite the fact that I'll probably hate it).  Which reminds me, I have to finish up Phantom Hourglass before New Year's!     :P

I doubt M:OM will be a mindless beat-em up. It is in 3rd person though, but it seems to have 1st person moments.

SMG2 looks badass. Its a must-buy for me too.

Never bought an on-rails either, but I dont see that being bad. Wait, nevermind,  I owned Pokemon Snap.

Trust me with Sin and Punishment, Treasure are known for making great shooters.  Whether it's Bangai' O or Ikaruga, they make VERY good shooters.

Sin and Punishment was a joy to play, so don't let something like it being on-rail prevent you from enjoying the games.  Emulate the first to try it out if you want to, it has weird controls though which to not work well without a N64 controller, but that has been fixed with the VC version.

I don't know...I still have seemed to find plenty of stuff to play in those two years.

But yeah...2010 is still looking pretty good.

Oh, and I forgot about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.  It's not a Nintendo game, but at least it's a Wii game, and I'm looking forward to it (might get it, might not, depends on reviews).

I have, too... just not new Nintendo games.

You were talking about Nintendo only published games? Or Wii games in generel (like 3rd party stuff)?

I think first party, but might be the same deal for third parties...

SH isn't my kind of game, but damn it sounds good.
Dead Space looks good to me too, despite some of the complaints I heard.

I was talking about Nintendo-published games, but now that I think about it, what I said applies to all Wii games.     :P

Then I guess I have to re-itterate the narrow view argument. Sorry.

Damn... Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is only, according to IGN, "about five or six hours" long.  And I was thinking of getting it, too.     :(

But I will be getting Spirit Tracks... not because I think I'll like it (if it's anything like Phantom Hourglass, I won't), but because it's a Zelda game and I therefore need to play it.

I heard SH has good replayability though, so maybe that makes up for the shortness?

ST looks damn good to me. Much better than PH. Has so much more personality...
But it works much like it, touch screen controls and all. In fact, it might use it more (or at least, use it better, like more clever and new ways of taking advantage of it).

But its supposed to have fixed quite a few shortcomings from PH, like the central dungeon's flaws, some touch screen stuff.

I'll be going in with my opinions wiped as clean as possible, haha.  I didn't hate Phantom Hourglass at first... it just gradually frustrated me more and more (little things mostly, but it all added up).  Hopefully this game will be an improvement.

Oh, and good replayability never makes up for shortness.  Never.     :)

central dungeon
Wait, what?  ST ALSO has a central dungeon o_O

I think I'm going to stick to the nickname I called it a moment ago, Spirit Drags...
