Reggie Says There's No a Wii HD

During the last episode of GameTrailers TV, Reggie Fils-Aime denied the existence of a Wii HD: "Michael Pachter (analyst) continues to be the only one who believes that this is gonna happen. I don't know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD", he said. 

Reggie did some other interesting declarations during the episode:

- He thinks New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on one platform by January NPD data.
- Spirit Tracks is indeed a Phantom Hourglass sequel. The game begins with Link going to his graduation ceremony for completion of train engineering school. He will no longer be an apprentice engineer after this ceremony.
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 is in the middle of being finalized. The goal is to offer more challenge in the game.
- Zelda Wii cannot be talked about right now, other than the MotionPlus stuff we already know. They haven't confirmed Zelda Wii for 2010 release
- Reggie reconfirms Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M for 2010 release
- Reggie hasn't seen the Vitality Sensor since E3 2009.

Lets see...one is a side scroller platformer in a long series who's concept has been done to death...another is an FPS in a long series who's concept has also been done to death...

I was totally skeptical when he claimed that, but who knows. I mean CoD is a game that only hardcore gamers will pick up. Mario ends up appealing to a much wider audience. BUT, unfortunately, too many "core" gamers dont like NSMBWii because they feel resentful about its graphical style and stuff. Retarded, cuz I've seen enough to believe its a full fledged, new game, not a rip off of NSMB.

I was planning on not getting it until...idk, a week ago maybe. Im really considering it now though.

San, I would like to say you are wrong about COD only being for hardcore gamers. Almost everyone with an Xbox or PS3 plays it. Hell, it was even in the office when they were playing COD on their computers.

It was also in South Park when they were in the computer lab and playing COD5 while Mr. Mackey was talking.

However, you may be right about MW2, since it's mainly an expansion pack.

I was kinda being metaphorical. It's being considered an expansion pack. It is a full title, but based on what I've heard, it feels more like an expansion pack.

Yeah, but most core gamers also aren't excited because it looks like easy cashing for Nintendo. Just a quick sequell to NSMB with some new items and a multiplayer and no graphical improvement. And NSMB wasn't that great to begin with (it's one of the weakest Mario platformers in my opinion). I'll buy it though because I expect some fun from it. But I don't expext it to be great.

Wouldn't surprise me since Mario games always sell through the roof!! But why compare the two? They are 2 totally different games!

By the way: Harder is the magical word now at Nintendo. Shigeru said that NSMBW will be harder then NSMB, he said that Mario galaxy 2 will be harder then Mario galaxy, and he said that Spirit tracks will be harder then Ph. I hope I will experience it that way!

Yes....that's the reason.....that's the epitome of what's wrong with the game, having to play as toad if you're Player 3 or 4...
I speak from past experience when I say that I'd choose Toad over Peach ALWAYS in ANY Mario game anyway. And...Peach is the one you save, so...how would that work? Lets bring Daisy instead, whose tongue I want to rip from her mouth or cut off with scissors...

...and? They've also played World of Warcraft, and Guitar Hero, and Okama Gamesphere, and Chinpokomon video games, and PSPs and Wiis (or at least wnated to)...

That actually describes the most negative comments I see about the game, but I've read too frequently from the media that its so incredibly inaccurate.
For one, the style of graphics is the same, but it doesnt look like a DS game. It looks cleaner, shinier, nicer, and the backgrounds are full 3D.
As for the rest of the game...oh it has new levels and powerups...wow, what a great way to put a terrible spin to it. Isn't that what all Mario games do? Give you new levels and sometimes powerups? I mean the games are the same at their core. Go from start to finish.

Its the graphics that just deceive people into wrongly seeing it as a clone or something.

As for difficulty, yea supposedly it is more challenging. IGN's podcast, they spent like half an hour talking about it.
SMG2 is supposed to be more challenging too.

Well I guess I meant casual/core. Labelling gamers is !$@$&ing retarded, I gotta say, but if you think of a casual gamer that owns a Wii and a casual gamer that owns a 360, very different types of people come to  mind, at least for me. True, bunch of HS kids, for example, own a 360, and I know too many...and they all play "core" games. Halo, and Gears, and CoD, Madden obviously. Stuff like that.

Those arent casual games, even if the people play casually. That's kinda what I meant.

I own an SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, GBA, DS, PS1, PS2, and a high end gaming PC, and I've played video games since I was 4 years old. Not owning a PS3 and/or a 360 does not make myself a core gamer? I see what you did there.

There are casual games on the 360/PS3 as well as the PC. Viva Pinata and Eyepet are among the games in the so called "Next Generation" game systems. The Wii's main selling focus is the casual market, but it also has a few core titles to sanitize what is left of the core Nintendo fan base. Yes, the 360 and PS3 does have titles that cater to the modern crowd and/or the long time gamer base, but like I said, there are also casual games on them, so don't say that "Anyone who owns them is a core gamer", because anyone who owns them, is all dependent on their taste of games.

You also realize what we consider classic back in the later generations of gaming, will not be considered classic to the the young gamers; they will find themselves playing the newer games unless they go out of their way playing the older games by means of a friend's and/or parent's suggestion, or if they go out of their way searching through the history of video gaming to find out themselves. I remember I suggested one of my friends who has never played anything before this generation of systems, and they had trouble getting used to the graphics of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's a shame that many of the adults who play over 10 hours of Wii Fit weekly will probably not go out of their way reading about the history of video games or even experience it for themselves.

Also, I do not consider sports games to be core games at all. I find them to be more of a simulation of the real thing rather than core games compared to the rest of the catalog. Plus, they are released EVERY FRICKIN YEAR WITH LITTLE TO NO IMPROVEMENTS OTHER THAN ROSTERS. IS THAT SOME KIND OF MONEY MAKING SCAM?

Can I point out that the 360/PS3/Wii are still being labeled as "Next Gen" systems, even though WE ARE IN THE NEXT GENERATION? So should they be coined as "This Generation"?

lol, nice misunderstanding there. I'd be the last person to oppose what you said in that post though. I've owned mostly Nintendo systems alone in my life, except for the Sega Genesis, which I loved, but thought was a ridiculous trade for the SNES we had before it <_<
