It does?  I didn't see much of that in the trailer...

Breast physics.  Something I wouldn't normally apply to Samus...

If they have any credibility, they'll probably have realistic physics for the... mammeries.  I actually don't see it as a problem so long as it isn't stupidly ridiculous.  They aren't completely stagnant in real life now are they?

Wow... Feels kinda odd to be paying much attention to the female form, no less that of a fictional character...

When things are realistic in games I usually don't notice.  Something pointed out by the employees of Valve in HL2: Ep. 2's commentary, that they put all kinds of work into making it look realistic, and players don't even really notice at first because it just seems right.

Ew... anime Metroid made by the creators of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden.

This could be very bad - a straight-up action game with cheesy characters.

Anime it is not, yet.  The CGs are actually pretty realistically done, but with a simplified style.

You seem to be judging it when not enough is there to be judged upon.  I think it looks epicly good, quite a lot of other people do too.

It's a joint effort between Ninty and Team Ninja; it's defined as a collaboration between the two, and I don't think Nintendo would want to publish games not up to snuff, Samuel.

I like the style the game has right now.  It's not goofy looking, it's like K_Z said, a simplified realism kind of style.

I am judging it on what there is to judge (just as you are).  My opinion may or may not change upon exposure to further content.     ;)

But for now, I don't like it.  Simple as that.

It sounded like Samus is gonna talk in this....is that wise thing to do? O.o

She's not a silent protagonist, so... I don't see why not.

Yes it is. The industry can barely stand silent protagonists these days. Link gets very mixed views on the subject, but I think Samus is definitely a good choice to give a voice to.

Link is on the fence, though at this rate, he might not be speaking any time soon.
I do hope VA still makes it to the next game.

Hmm...good point, but its gonna be one of those things where people think of what she could sound like, and then when they announce her voice for the first time it might dissapoint a few people.

Yea but oh well...I doubt every single fan wil llike the end result, but its a step they'll have to take at some point =/

It's nice to see that they take the franchise in a totally different direction. They could have made it first-person for the fourth time (hunters not included), but at least they try something new. This could be more about action and less about exploration. If that is good or bad I don't know. To early to tell. But it surely looks promising!

I just love how no one expected this at all, there's nothing like being pleasantly blown away

Well really, who would?  I don't remember them ever mentioning that they'd started a new Metroid project, so it pretty much came out of nowhere to me.  Probably a good idea, too.

Well, I knew in my bones that someday the wii would see another 3d Metroid. But I didn't expect it this soon. And having different perspectives (third AND first-person). And made by Team Ninja. And looking this bad-ass.

Haha
Judgement is a two way street.  ;)

I partially agree with Samual71.

I entirely agree with myself.  And my opinion is... this game's gonna be effing sweet.  :P

LOLz. I love how much you're all squabbling over whether it will be good when we hardly know anything yet.

Look at it this way:
It's a Metroid action game that looks story-focused.

Having Samus TALK? OMG GASP! Um, yea? How about we finally move the character into the post-2000 era, please? I'm sick of these potentially amazing mythologies being weighed down by a lack of personality and story. If this game delivers an intersting Metroid plot that's loyal to what the series has established thus far, I am VERY much for it.

As for the drastic change in gameplay: like the idea. I'm totally up for a fresh change of pace. If you aren't, go play Super Metroid (which is quite amazing), or go through the Prime Trilogy.

I'm not looking at this as a proper sequel, but I don't CARE. It looks like a cool, action-packed Metroid game that will expand the story and character of Samus Aran, something I've wanted to know more about for years.

No matter which voice they give her, some will like it and some won't. ESPECIALLY with the Nintendo community. Period.

I think this will be a love it/hate it game for Metroid fans, BUT I think it will be a generally well-respected game by critics and Nintendo fans as a whole. This is exactly -- EXACTLY -- the type of game the hardcore fans have been crying for on Wii: maturing an established franchise with a more adult tone and intense gameplay.

Looks more like a prequel to me, which is just as good if not better than a sequel in my opinion.  Fleshes out more of the backstory, y'know?

But yeah, I get what you're saying and I agree.

I just have to +1 karma that XD

I am with Eddy on this.  It's about time the series got some reinvention.  Besides, I doubt Team Ninja would mess up this.

And if they do, it won't be the end of the world.  Or the end of Metroid, for that matter.

That...is...epic. Replace Metroid for whatever game you're talking about, and you should use that in every single fanboy squabble in existence!!! Dan is on a Karma roll today xD

It was bound to happen eventually to balance out my general unpleasantness I exude a lot of the time.  Law of averages.  :P

Well, I am pretty excited for this game.  I don't know about the 2D/2.5D/3D claims, because the trailer doesn't explicitly show that, but I do know that I'm really looking forward to this.  Not as much as Batman: Arkham Asylum, but then again, how many quality video games has Batman had so far?  Not many.

Looks good.  I hope the new control scheme isn't limiting, but as long as the story is as good as it seems, it'll be pretty epic.

Did anyone see that awesome Metroid cosplay in Nintendo Power?
