While I could have sworn Cubix was the name of some shitty cartoon from  South Korea, apparently developer Laughing Jackal is betting you won't  remember it (and they added an extra X for good measure). This Cubixx is  an action puzzle game using an old mini game I haven't seen in quite  some time.

In Cubixx you play as a spark on a giant cube in  space. The cube boxes in a sun and it's your job to cut across the  squares and chop off 50% or more of the cube to free the sun inside.  Along the panels of the cube are evil glowing squares that will  prematurely cut your journey short. You start cutting with one of the  shoulder buttons and try to chop off as much as you can in one go. Once  you start cutting you can't cross your own line; think of it like  Etch-a-sketch in space....with fire. As you progress new challenges are  presented, such as blue sparks that will follow you along the edges. The  game is pretty basic in its flow, but at least the music is some darn  good techno.

The biggest flaw with Cubixx is that seemingly and  entirely at random the controls reverse themselves in the middle of a  cut. Right becomes left and up becomes down. I have no idea why this is  and even when going across the same panel again the controls will be  correct. This is obviously the biggest issue with what otherwise is a  fun diversion. Compared to some of the other PSP Minis, you're  definitely not getting as much bang for your buck. But if you're a fan  of this weird twist on Snake, then have a go.

Final Verdict - 5/10
The core gameplay is just a little too basic to recommend over other offerings. The visuals and soundtrack are pretty snazzy, but the controls are the real snag in this title.
